Marguet Wanda Simpson, 87, of Taswell, formerly of Lafayette, died at 2:04 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at University of Louisville Hospital.
She was born May 24, 1922, in Crawford County to the late George and Lena Kemp Coleman.
On Sept. 28, 1946, she married Elmore Simpson in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1984.
Mrs. Simpson was an inspector at Alcoa for 13 years, retiring in 1987.
She had been a member of the former Creasy Lane Baptist Church and the Alcoa Retirees Club.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing and working in her yard.
Surviving is her son, Bobby D. Simpson (wife: Linda M.) of Lafayette, and a sister, Myrtle Brumley (husband: Ray) of Corydon.
Also surviving is a grandson, Wesley Simpson, and two great-granddaughters, Tiffany and Crystal.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 2 p.m. service Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Pastor Ross Terry officiating. Interment will be at Wyandotte Cemetery.
Preceded in death by granddaughter Andrea Corbin.
