Marguerite I. Wilson, 94, of Lafayette, was promoted to Heaven where she is dancing on streets of gold after she passed at St Elizabeth East Hospital on Monday, November 13, 2017. She was born in Otterbein on April 22, 1923 to Joseph Freeman and Letha (Miller) Blackburn. She graduated from Otterbein High School in 1941. Marguerite would go on to marry Eugene “Gene” Wilson on July 20, 1947 in Earl Park. He preceded her in death in 1983. She enjoyed reading, working on and completing crossword and word search puzzles, dancing, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of the Fidelis Club and Women’s Missionary Society. Marguerite had a deep faith in God and enjoyed spreading and teaching faith by teaching Sunday School at both Lafayette Church of God and Church of the Nazarene for many years. Surviving are her three daughters, Sharon Southern (husband Kenny, deceased), Jeanne Schrader (husband Steven) and Jacquelyn James, all of Lafayette, two sisters, Phyllis Leming of Lafayette and Donna Gooden of Mulberry, 7 grandchildren, Melody Davis (husband Dan), Dana Southern (wife Rita), Holly Cummins (husband Bryan), Brooke Furrer (husband Bill), Heather Patterson (husband Brett), Brandon Aldridge (wife Aerial), and Ashley James, eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the service begins at 1:30 PM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN 47909. Burial will follow the service at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette. Memorial donations may be made in Marguerite’s name to the KLD Foundation for donation to Joyful Journey, P.O.
