Margaret Larkin Dowell Margaret Dowell died peacefully April 1 at Hoosier Village Health Center in Indianapolis, IN where she had been a resident for twelve years. She was born in Chicago, IL in 1916. Her parents were Eveline Rochfort and James Larkin. She attended schools in McHenry, IL and graduated from Northern Illinois University. In 1948 she was married to Earl Dowell of Lafayette, IN , formerly McHenry, IL. He died April 20, 1994. Margaret taught in public schools in the Chicago vicinity and Catholic schools in Lafayette, IN. Her teaching career spanned thirty years. She enjoyed writing stories and poems for children.She belonged to St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette where she was a volunteer at the St. Boniface White Elephant Shop for many years and a member of Church Women United. She is survived by daughter Kathleen Halsema (David) and son Robert Dowell, granddaughters Jill Thompson and Claire Spelde, and great-grandson Cade Thompson. Margaret's family is very thankful to the Hoosier Village Health Center staff for their excellent care and friendship. A private family service was held in Lafayette.
