Margaret H. Silvero, 95, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at St. Mary Health Care.
She was born June 11, 1925, in Havana, Cuba, to the late Carlos and Elisa (Edelmann) Hevia.
On December 19, 1948, she married Hubert Silvero MD in Havana, Cuba. He preceded her indeath on January 30, 2021. They were married for 72 years.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish in Lafayette, Indiana.
Margaret was an avid golfer. She was an extrovert who enjoyed many friends throughout her life in Fort Wayne, and during retirement in Miami, Florida.
Surviving are her daughter, Margarita S. (Tom) Mattingly of Lafayette along with 7 grandchildren, Christine (husband Brian) Kreighbaum of Lafayette, David (wife Nicole) Mattingly of Lafayette, Anne (husband Chris) Wheeler of Brownsburg, Michael (wife Andrea) Mattingly of Lafayette, Andrew Mattingly of Baltimore, MaryBeth Mattingly of Salt Lake City, and Katherine Mattingly of Panama City Beach. 8 great-grandchildren Emily and Abbigael Kreighbaum, Ariel Mattingly, Max and Zoe Wheeler, Hazel, Willow and Wells Mattingly.
Private family services will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, 612 Wabash Avenue, Lafayette, with Fr. Dennis officiating. Interment will be next to Hubert at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette.
