Margaret Ann Fife, 74, of Lafayette, died at 12 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1937, in Lafayette, to the late Byrns and Louise Halsema Moore.
On July 18, 1957, she married William Fife Sr. in Lafayette, and he survives.
Mrs. Fife had formerly worked as a qualified medical aide and retired to become a homemaker.
She was a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed embroidery, figure skating, country music and flower gardening.
Surviving with her husband are five daughters, Sally A. Fife of West Lafayette, Peggy S. Welcher (husband: Richard) of Lafayette, Becky J. Shepherd (husband: William) of Charleston, Ill., Ruth M. Ferry (husband: James) of Lafayette and Judy A. Merkel (husband: Jerry) of West Lafayette; a son, William D. Fife Jr. of Lafayette; three brothers, Byrns E. Moore Jr. (wife: Beverly) of Lafayette, James A. Moore Sr. (wife: Vange) of Lafayette and Donald W. Moore (wife: Marilyn) of Otterbein; and three sisters, Deloris M. Goris of Lafayette, Marylyn J. Hammelman of Lafayette and Betty L. Johns (husband: John) of Rockville.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Jake, Nick and Max Welcher, Caleb Fife, Levi Alley, Julian Fife (wife: Alisha), Elizabeth Wade (husband: Justin) and Anna Merkel; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Welcher, Nakia Welcher, Reese Wade and Tristan Wade. Preceded in death by grandson, Gavin Wade.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service a 3 p.m. memorial service at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Father Cajetan Ebuzium officiating. Those wishing may contribute to the National Kidney Foundation or St. Labre Indian Mission School, Ashmont, MT 59004.
