Luther Gene Godbey, 68, of Attica, died at 7:35 AM Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at IU Arnett Hospital Lafayette. Gene was born June 8, 1947 in Battle Ground to the late Alvin and Rose Belle Warren Godbey. On August 10,1979 he married Norene K. Green in Lafayette and she survives. Gene worked at Jefferson Smurfit as a pauper operator and then retired. Surviving are his daughters, Shelley Smith husband Frank, Jana Tyrie husband Jamie both of Lafayette, sisters, Ruth Keown and Judy Wheat both of Lafayette, mother in law, Carol Green of Anna, IL. Graveside service 11 AM Saturday, October 3 at Pretty Prairie Cemetery. Mr Charlie Bader officiating. He was preceded in death by a son, Luke Godbey, 4 brothers, Herbert, Chester “Check”, Ralph and Johnny Godbey, three sisters, Teen Reynolds, Marge Combs and Eveline Edwards Those wishing may contribute to charity of choice.
