Louise M. Mahlke, 81, of Lafayette, died at 3:38 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 7, 2010 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She had been a resident of Lafayette since 1962 coming from Brookston.
Born June 7, 1929, in Monon, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Myrtle Kemp Burnau, and a 1948 graduate of Monon High School.
On Aug. 4, 1951, she married Albert Mahlke who preceded her in death Nov. 22, 2000.
Mrs. Mahlke worked for Bryan Manufacturing in Monticello, Jerry&s Cafeteria and Lafayette Life Insurance for 121/2 years and is retired. She also was an Avon representative for many years in Lafayette.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan K. Rice (husband: K. Neal) of Arlington, Texas, and Karen S. Senn (husband: Mark) of Lafayette; and two sisters, Helen Faye Wilson of Monon and M. Marie Bohling of Hebron.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Naomi A. Senn, Lafayette, and Elaine C. Senn, Bloomington. A brother, Howard Carl Burnau, preceded in death.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 5:30 p.m. service Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Those wishing may contribute to a charity of choice.
