Louis D. Shepherd, 81
Louis D. Shepherd, 81, of Lafayette, died at 9:54 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East.
Born Aug. 30, 1929, in Tipton, he graduated from Anderson High School in 1947. He served in the 2nd Marine Air Wing during the Korean War.
His first marriage was to Patricia Bass in 1950, and she preceded him in death in 1997. In February 1999, he married Janet Yost of Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Shepherd retired after 30 years at RCA of Indianapolis.
He was a member of First Assembly of God and American Legion Post 11, both in Lafayette. He was past president of the Scottish Society of Indianapolis and British Car Triumph Club of Indiana, past convener of Clan Shaw, a Shriner with the Valley of Indianapolis, and Jr. Vice Commandant of the Marine Corps League Detachment 547.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Kai Shepherd (wife: Michelle) of South Bend; and a daughter, Stacey Weddle (husband: James) of Webster Grove, Mo.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, Pastors Dwight Johns and Robby Bradford officiating.
