Lois D. Allen, 88, of Lafayette passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Elizabeth East. She was born March 22, 1926, in Chicago Heights, IL, to the late Ernest and Margaret Fostner Franz. On September 23, 1943 she married George Allen Jr. and he preceded her in death on January 22, 1986. Lois worked at KMart for over 20 years and retired as Department Manager of Ladies Wear. She was a member of VFW Aux. and Eagles Aux. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts. Lois loved all her children, grandchildren, sisters and brothers equally and enjoyed spending time with them all. Surviving are her children Donald G. Allen of Lafayette, Danny E. Allen (Nancy) of Lafayette, Michael L. Allen of Lafayette, Terri Lynn Osborne (John) of Lakewood, NY, Deborah A. Stalker (Rick) of Lafayette, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also survivng are her siblings Margaret Campbell, Ernest Franz Jr., Barbara Bush, Lillian Mills, Sandra Coruccini, Edward Franz, Donna Barclay, Calvin Franz, James Franz, Sharon Lowry, Wayne Franz and Hope Franz. Lois was preceded in death by sisters Loretta Baker and Betty Ann Mattz. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment will be at Spring Vale Cemetery.
