Lillian Irene Dienhart, 83, passed away at 5:35 pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort.
She was born in Tazewell, TN on November 8, 1933 to the late Millard and Birdie (Sulfridge) Cosby.
Irene graduated from Klondike High School in 1952 and had worked as an account clerk at Purdue University in the residence halls. After retiring from Purdue she worked at family owned Par View Golf Course. Irene enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Debbie Cole (Dennis) of West Lafayette, Donna Brown (Ron) of Hardeeville, SC, Kerry Dienhart (Carol) of Zionsville, Teresa Grimley (Kevin) of Lafayette and Brenda Kingery (Mark) of Heyworth, IL; and a brother, Don Cosby (Jan). Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, Alison Sarbaugh, Andy Cole, Keith and Kyle Brown, Melissa Dixon, Lindsay Grimley, Dylan and Mathew Dienhart, Evan, Hayden, and Cassidy Kingery along with six great grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan and Olivia Sarbaugh and Camryn and Ryder Dixon, and Conner Cole.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ralph Dienhart; a brother Onnie Cosby; and a sister, Betty Maxwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Irene’s name may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Private family services will be held.
