Leah Gayle Hyland, 51, of Lafayette, passed away at 10:57 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born September 11, 1961, in Lafayette, to the late Robert Lee Bailey and Linda Veach Burnett. She graduated from McCutcheon High School in 1979 and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1982. On November 7, 2003 she married Dan Hyland in Lafayette and he survives. Gayle was an LPN before taking early retirement do to disability. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, scrap booking and photography. Surviving along with her husband is a son Matt Fleschner of Mulberry ; a daughter Jennifer Shelton (husband Bryan Jr.) of Houston, TX; step- son Danny Hyland Jr. of Lafayette; step – daughter Dawn Hyland (companion Olly Walker) of Lebanon; two brothers Mike Bailey (fiancée Kristi Miller), Robert Bailey (fiancée Maggie Clute) both of Lafayette; three grandchildren – Aden Baker, Chloe Fleschner and Tripp Walker and nieces and nephews Brittany and Brett Bailey, Kc and Lindsey Clute. Visitation will be from 2:00 until the time of the service at 4:00 pm Monday, April 22, 2013 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Rev. Dr. Clayton Kendall officiating.
