Kimberly A. Childers

Date of Death: February 11, 2012

The Lord called on His angel, Kimberly Childers, 42, of Lafayette, who passed away on Saturday, February 11, at 2:03 a.m. at Indiana University Medical Center.
Born August 22, 1969, in Lafayette, she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1987. She was in the Lafayette Jefferson Marching Band (Flags) and performed in an all girls choir.
Kim worked for Carnival Video as a manager, Grace Daycare Center and Reese Central Wholesale (counter sales).
Kim was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion #11. She loved going to flea markets, Smoky Mountains and the oceans. She also loved attending the Jefferson First Edition Choir shows and watching her two sons perform.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Childers and two sons, Derrick Childers and Dalton Childers of Lafayette; mother, Cindy Golden (Dick); father, David Swink (Kathy); sister, Denise Marsh; nephews, Ryan Marsh of Lafayette; Cory Marsh (Kelly Woodram) of Lafayette; Kyle Marsh (Megean Bauer) of Lafayette; her aunt, Mary Roth; and her beloved little white dog, Charlie. Also surviving are many aunts and uncles and her best friend, Teresa Walters.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Lucille Roth, Wardina Randolph and Dave and Marie Swink.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lafayette Chapel with Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating. Interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Praying for your family in your time of need. I was a few years ahead of Kimberly at Jeff but i remember her to be a lovely girl and very sweet. Please except my condolences and GOD bless you all.

I so sorry to hear about Kim&s passing. I meet Kim when she worked at George Davis Manor as a nurses aide. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

I knew Kim in high school. We were in choir together. She was always a very friendly person. Sorry for your loss.

I am sorry to hear of your loss.It makes me very sad to hear it. I am not able to attend the services because I have to work, but I wanted to be sure pass on my condolences.
Kim was a wonderful and very sweet person. I was glad to have known her while growing up. Even though I had lost touch with her, I thought of her often and remembered what a great person and dear friend she was. I was able to reconnect with her through facebook and talked with her often. We had made plans to get together, but for one reason or another we just could not make it happen.I am happy for the time I had in which to call her friend and regret those missed opportunities to visit with her in person. However, I know, without a doubt, she loved her family very much. Her children were a great achievement to her and she spoke of them often. You are all blessed to have had such a wonderful person in your family. I am sure she will be watching over you always.

I am so sorry for your loss Kim meant a lot to me, she was a wonderful mother and wife. She was always nice and I can&t remember her without a smile on her face. She loved watching you boys perform. she use to love every memorial day camping trips and no matter what the weather she always smiled. I know what its like to lose a parent and it is not easy. The best cure is to embrace the times you had with her and never forget her. I wish I could be there to hug you guys, but I love you and always will you were a big part of my life for a long time..

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family and especially with Dave Swink on the death of Kim. It is never easy to lose a loved one so young but we know your faith will help you during this time of grief.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kim&s family and friends. She was my classmate and we were in marching band together. I never knew her really well, but she was very sweet and always had a pleasant smile on her face. May she rest in peace.

Kim was my best friend for years. We lost contact for awhile due to life experiences. I finally was able to reconnect with Kim and loved every minute we talked. It was like we never lost touch. Our friendship was still very much alive and I am so sad about her passing. My heart goes out to her family and I would give anything to be able to be there for her funeral but due to financial I can not do so. I want the family to know I loved Kim with all my heart and I have many fond memories with her and I. I am so sorry I wasn&t able to meet her two boys but my love, hugs, and prayers go out to all.
RIP Kim you will truly be missed but God did gain a wonderful angel to add in his world and someday I will see you again.
