Kim J. Morris (Stromberger), 61, of West Lafayette, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was born on August, 20, 1956 in Dixon, IL, the daughter of the late Martin J. Stromberger and Joyce (Hoover) Stromberger. Kim married Les Morris, December 1979, for whom she cared with deep love and courage before his passing in 2012.
Kim graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Illinois Wesleyan University. She taught elementary school and college English, and more recently worked as an Admissions Advisor at Ivy Tech in Lafayette, Indiana, where she excelled and delighted in assisting students with career choices and the course of study needed to achieve their dreams.
Kim was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and dedicated mom to her daughters, Kristen (Matthew) Hoch of Chicago and Haley Morris of Indianapolis. Kim loved spending time with her children; enjoying travel, excursions to new places, trying new cuisines, the arts, or just fun time at home creating family memories. Kim will be dearly missed by her friends who knew her to be generous, kind, thoughtful, creative, and a great listener; she was a special friend to many. Kim’s personal faith in and relationship with Jesus gave her hope, strength, and peace as she fought a courageous year-long battle with brain cancer.
Kim is survived by her mother, Joyce Stromberger of Naperville, IL, brother, Martin (Julie) Stromberger of Eau Claire, WI, sister Dawn (Ken) Louise of Naperville, IL, and number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 4-7pm at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 4703 N 50 W, West Lafayette, Indiana with a funeral service on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2pm at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family invites memorial donations to be given toward American Brain Tumor Association or St. Andrews United Methodist Church in West Lafayette, Indiana.
