Kathleen B. “Katy” Shaw, 81, of Lafayette, died at 11:49 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth East.
She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in French Lick, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Cora Claston Barkley. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1947.
On Feb. 24, 1950, she married Robert S. Shaw. He died Nov. 11, 2000 .
Mrs. Shaw worked for Lafayette Life in the mortgage loan department.
She enjoyed knitting, reading, crocheting and playing bingo.
Surviving is daughter, Elaine M. Rayman (husband: Ken) of West Lafayette
Also surviving are a grandson, John K. Rayman (wife: Jeana) of West Lafayette; a granddaughter, Jessica B. Rayman of West Lafayette; and a great-grandchild, Loralei Rayman. Preceded in death by a brother, Charles “Kelly” Barkley.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twycknham Blvd. Funeral service 10 a.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. James E. Chase officiating. Burial will be at Cox Cemetery ,Thorntown, IN. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Or American Heart Association. www.soller-baker.com
