Joseph A. O&Leary

Joseph A. O&Leary, 89, of West Lafayette, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Indiana Veterans Home. He had been a resident of the Lafayette area since 1981.
He was born Nov. 28, 1921, in New York, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Caroline Schaal O&Leary.
He graduated from Bayside High School, Bayside, N.Y., and served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War.
On Aug. 15,1943 he married Genevieve Yore in New York City. She preceded him in death Oct 6, 1999.
Mr. O&Leary was a retired Policeman with the N.Y.C Police Department.
Surviving are his children Joseph T. O&Leary (wife: Joanne) of Fort Collins, Colo., and Kathleen Taggart, Jacksonville, Fla.
Also surviving are grandchildren Joseph M. O&Leary, John P. O&Leary and Jamie P. Alexander; great-grandchildren, Kai O&Leary, Tragar O&Leary and Tyson O&Leary.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday with visitation 1 hour prior, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, Fr. David Buckles officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials to Indiana Veterans Home, c/o Community Service Director, 3851 N River Rd. West Lafayette, IN 47906.
