Josefa Salazar 93 years old, of Lafayette and Tlaltenango, Zac. Mexico, passed away on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 in Lafayette, IN. She was born September 7th, 1927 in Tlaltenango, Zac. Mexico, to the late Anselmo Garcia and Teresa Miramontes. Her marriage was to Tomas Salazar, he preceded her in death.
Josefa was a member of St. Boniface Church and was a very devoted Catholic, would love to pray at least one Rosary a day. She was a very strong and positive woman, who loved traveling to her hometown in Mexico. Up until last December she would visit her hometown every 6 months. She would drive in a car with her son and his family. She loved to crochet and watch television. Her favorite colors were white, lavender, and peach.
She is survived by sibling ‘s brother, Manuel (Guadalupe) García, sister’s, Carmen (Jose) Garcia, and Julia (Jose Minjares) García, son, Luis (Enedina) Salazar, daughter, Sara (Alfredo) Magallanes, son, Abel (Leticia) Salazar, son in law, (Juan) Magallanes, daughter in law, (Rosy) Vega, son, Raul (Roselia) Salazar, son, Marcelino (Carolina) Salazar, son, Roberto (Delia) Salazar, daughter, Josefa (Gabriel) Minjares, Grand kids, Estela Salazar, Mattie Salazar, Luis Humberto Salazar, Martha Salazar, Sarita Swift, Juvenal Magallanes, Estela Vigus, Lizette Esquivel, Abelito Salazar, Michael Salazar, Maria Martinez, Juan Magallanes, Gustavo Magallanes, Sergio Magallanes, Ricardo Magallanes, Mireya Quinones, Roberto Salazar, Diego Salazar, Gabriel Salazar, Tomas Salazar, Manuel Salazar, Jasmin Salazar, Dario Salazar, Adilene Day, Roberto Salazar, Israel Salazar, Daniel Salazar, Liliana M Reyes, Fabian Minjares, 34 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Josefa was preceded in death by siblings, Lorenzo, Dionicio, Antonio, Magdaleno and Eufemio Garcia. Son, Mario Salazar, daughter, Ma. Rosario Magallanes, great grandson, Gustavo Minjares, and granddaughter, Alma Salazar.
Visitation at the funeral home will be: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, April 13th, 2021 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, IN. 47909
The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 at St Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette, IN with Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating, pastor of St. Boniface Church.

Le gustaba ir a México cada 6 meses, con su hijo y su familia. Era feliz visitando su pueblo natal, le encantaba tejer y ver televisión. Sus colores favoritos fueron el blanco, lila, y el color durazno.
