John Skubal, 55
John Skubal, 55, of West Lafayette, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at his residence.
Born July 23, 1955, in West Allis, Wis., he was the son of Mae Ellen Halvorsen Skubal and the late John J. Skubal. He graduated from Guilford High School and Illinois State University.
On July 10, 1982, he married Lorie Dickinson, and she survives.
Mr. Skubal had worked as IT manager for Total Electronics in Logansport since 1998.
He was a member of Lafayette Jammers, Thorntown Jammers and Lafayette Cloud Jockeys. He enjoyed bluegrass music, photography, flying remote-controlled planes and woodworking.
Surviving with his wife and mother are a daughter, Rebecca Blackman (husband: Jay) of Cedar Lake; a son, Daniel Skubal (fiancée: Veronica LaPage) of Chicago; two sisters, Mary Petersen (husband: Kevin) of Omaha, Neb., and Kathy Korab (husband: Chris) of Beloit, Wis.; and a brother, Bob Skubal of Peoria, Ill.
Visitation 2-4 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, West Lafayette. Service 4 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, Chaplain Andrea Martin officiating. Dear Dan,
I am so sorry to hear of the sad loss of your father. He was so young, and I am sorry you were not able to keep him with you longer! What I can say is that he raised a wonderful son, and I am certain he was very proud of your accomplishments, and of the man you grew up to be.

Having work with John from the time he started at Controls and on many projects both good and bad. I knew him as a good employee and hard worker, someone I could count on to do his part and help me when I needed it. But more than that I came to know him as a good man, someone who could make time to listen and also give some unbiased advise. A good man has morals and feelings dedicated to both his family and his work. Not only has Total lost a great employee but his ""work family"" feels a great loss as a member of our team is gone. The Final Flight

Don&t grieve for me, for now I&m free,
I&m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
