John M. Greer, 69, of Lafayette, died Tuesday April 25th at his residence. He was born Jan. 9th 1948 to the late Earl & Sylvia Greer. His marriage was to the late Kathryn (Seyfried) Greer. John was a family proclaimed Bible Scholar who always had the perfect word of God set in his heart. He loved and adored his grandchildren, enjoyed repairing small engines, was outstanding at landscaping and loved to barter with people. John worked most of his life as a mechanic and a truck driver. John is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, Don & Earl (Bud) Greer and a granddaughter, Lauren Greer.
Surviving are 2 sons. Brandon Greer (wife, Amber) of Lafayette & Peter Greer (wife, Dawn) of West Lafayette. 6 grandchildren, Damien, Emma Jo, Peter Hasten, Asa John, Piper & Nella. 2 Brothers, Tom Greer (wife, Annette) of Aniston, Alabama & Joe Greer (wife, Rhonda) of Brookston. 5 sisters, Kathy Boggs, Anne Brooks, Karen Emmons, Patty Sluder and Brenda Alter, all of Lafayette. John also had many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for John will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Victory Temple Church of God (N 9th St, Lafayette).
