John E. Gallivan, 64, of Lafayette died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home. He was born November 18, 1950, in Lafayette, IN. On August 28, 1971 he married Kathleen Linder in Lafayette and she survives. John worked for the Lafayette Street Department for 22 years and is retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting pool. Surviving along with his wife are his children John E. Gallivan III, Stacey M. Sparger both of Lafayette, Amanda R. Whatley (Matt) of Ft. Worth, TX, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Sis Gallivan, Theresa Wright, Windy Barnett, brothers Tom Gallivan (Carol), Denny Gallivan and Bobby Gallivan all of Lafayette. John was preceded in death by a sister Pam Brown and his mother Mary Stout. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 7:00 PM service on Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Pastor Tom Camp officiating.
