Michael and Anne left a message on December 8, 2013:
Michael and Frances we are all so deeply saddened to hear of Joe's unexpected death and pray that God will grant you the strength needed to help you all through this terrible and desolate time. We pray that the love of your family and the strength of your friends will comfort you all. We know you are far away, but still remain forever close in our hearts, as Joe does in our prayers. A gentle soul ascended to heaven. "Circumstances surrounding any death may seem inescapable as children are supposed to bury their parents and not the other way round. Believe that God has the best reasons and most surprising ways of taking back an angel He so misses in Heaven." Please accept our deepest sympathy as words are not enough.

I am very sorry for your loss. Thankfully we can rely on the promises we read in the Bible. At Revelation 21:4 it tells us that the God of all comfort will soon do away with all suffering, sickness, tears, and death. Along with what we read at Isaiah 25:8 we can have a firm hope in the future. Until then, may your loving memories of Joe bring you solace during this difficult time. Your family has my sincerest condolences.

My most heart-felt sympathy to Frances & Mike. Although I have not seen Joe since he was a small child in England, I thought this poem might be apt for him. His smiling ways and pleasant face Are a pleasure to recall, He had a kindly word for each And died beloved of all. Some day we hope to meet him. Some day, we know not when, To clasp his hand in the better land, Never to part again. Praying that God will ease your suffering while you wait for this day.
