Joe Bill Ewing, 85, passed away on October 19, 2021, at his home in Lafayette, IN. Born September 6, 1936, in Frankfort, IN to the late Albert Lee Ewing and E. Charlotte (Trobaugh) Ewing. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1954 and obtained his barber license in 1956. He was owner of Midway Barber Shop and had a 45-year career as a barber. He enjoyed the banter with many loyal customers over the years.  He barbered next to Harry’s Chocolate Shop at Purdue (specializing in flat tops), also in the Indianapolis area (Eagledale and Pittsboro), and Frankfort, IN. He retired from the barbering business in December 1999.

He previously married Jan (McCreary) Anderson in 1956 and she survives. He married Judy (Eaton) Ewing on September 15, 1989, and she survives. Joe and Judy enjoyed family vacations to the ocean and group sightseeing trips together.

He is survived by three children: Greg (Lori Powers) Ewing of Fort Pierce, FL, Kathryn (Vern) Buesink Troyer of Alva, FL, and Gary (Sara) Ewing of West Lafayette, IN. He is also survived by two stepsons: Jay (Brenda) Summers of Indianapolis, IN and John (Ginger) Summers of Zionsville, IN. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Jeremy (Kalee Coulter) Ewing of Lafayette, IN, Steven (Erin) Buesink of Carmel, IN, Tara (Mike) Pickett of Mohawk, TN, Michael (Michelle) Buesink of Seven Fields, PA, Jon (Riley Wenrick) Ewing of Remington, IN, Bree Ewing of Lutz, FL, Elisha (Nathan Hewitt) Ewing of Terre Haute, IN. He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, plus two expected this winter. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Jack Ewing), and son-in-law (Randy Buesink).

Visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m. and the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Soller-Baker Funeral Home Lafayette Chapel at 400 Twyckenham Boulevard, Lafayette, IN.  PRIVATE BURIAL at Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, IN.
