Jimmie L. Simpson, 84, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at The Springs at Lafayette.

He was born July 26, 1940, in Sulphur Well, Kentucky, to the late Leonard and Vergie (Young) Simpson.  Jimmie married Lois Lurene Thompson Simpson in 1960.

He attended Dayton School and operated Simpsons Garage in Dayton for many years.

Surviving are his children Troy L. Simpson (Christy) of Clarks Hill, Vera C. Spaeth of Gulf Breeze, FL, Sandra K. (Tim) Sheets of Clarks Hill, IN, 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Also surviving are his siblings Virginia Feild of Conroe, TX, Patricia (William) Green of Lafayette and Roger Simpson (Marcia) of Dayton. A Celebration of life will be 12:00 pm Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Troy’s Garage.
