Jeffrey Allen Gillis, 45, of West Point died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Signature Health Care. He was born August 12, 1970, in Lafayette to Carol Woods Gillis of Lafayette and the late Michael Gillis. Jeffrey graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and had formerly worked at Greenbush Industries. He had participated in the Tippecanoe County Special Olympics in gymnastics and bowling. Jeff was chosen to participate in International Special Olympic Games, as a gymnist, that were held at the University of Notre Dame.  Surviving along with his mother are his brothers Gregory Gillis (Mary) of Lafayette, Kevin Gillis of West Point, nieces Krystan Gillis (Aimee) of Greenwood and Samantha Gillis, step nephews Derrick and Steven Peacock all of Lafayette. Jeffrey was preceded in death by a sister Susan Gillis.  Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.
