Janice K. Jones, 65, of Lafayette, died at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
She was born Nov. 6, 1944, in Lafayette to the late Thomas and Fonda McIntosh McKeighen. She graduated from Roosevelt High School now Twin Lakes High School and on June 24, 1967, she married Charles Jones in Lafayette.
Mrs. Jones retired from the Purdue Athletic ticket office. She had worked at Ross Gear for 11 years in the 1960&s and early 1970?s
She was an avid reader, was devoted to her family, and enjoyed aquatic exercises at the YMCA.
Surviving along with her husband is a sister, Nancy Love, of Lafayette.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and her cats, Tubby and Dawber, to which she was devoted.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Mann officiating. Burial at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Maitlen. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society, 401 S. Earl Ave., Lafayette, IN 47905. To The families and relatives of Jan. With deepest sympathies for Charlie and the entire family nieces, nephews, sisters, and all who loved Janice. She will be a wonderful Angle who will be missed horrably. I have so many fond memories of all of us who were able to spend so many child hood summers up at the lakes. Janice was a special breed of girl. She was a delight to having tagging after Nancy, my sister and I when we were at the lake. So many fond memories.

Nancy, even tho we don&t see each other it doesn&t mean I can&t look in my scrapbook and go back in time. Memories, that is what we have when we get older.

Please celebrate her life. Know she no longer suffers. Remember the high points of her life. Remember her positive attitude and love of life. Remember her faith in what will be will be....It may be years since I have seen her but she was a unique person. She will be missed and your love for her will continue..she is in God&s hands now . . If you are anything like me you will talk to her and almost feel her by your side.....I do this a lot to my Dad. No I am not nuts, but always have had a sensitive spot in my heart. I know your loss is heart breaking and I wish I could ease your pain..
