Jane E. Hamm, 66, of Lafayette,formerly of Romney passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at St. Mary Health Care. Jane E. Hamm, 66, of Lafayette,formerly of Romney passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at St. Mary Health Care.
She was born May 3, 1951, in Crawfordsville, to the late Hubert and Esther Winger Hamm.
Jane graduated from Southwestern High School 1970 and Ivy Tech State College with an associate’s degree in accounting.
Jane worked at Purdue for 42 years retiring in 2013. While at Purdue she worked in serveral different clerical positions retiring from the payroll department. A member of Brady Lane Church For many years. She was an avid Purdue sports fan and the St Louis Cardinals baseball club, member of Phi Theta Kappa. Jane enjoyed gardening, she also was a Watkins Representative for many years and loved spending time with her family and friends .
Surviving is her sister, Rebecca “Becky” L. (Larry E.) Brickey of Lafayette, brother- in-law, Joseph Rees of Lafayette, nephew, Joseph E (Melissa) Rees II of McDonaugh, GA, nephew, Chad (Rebekah) Brickey of Lafayette, niece, Lara (Cody) Arnold of Mulberry, great nephews, Landon & Triston Brickey, Nolan Arnold, great nieces, Addison & Evelyn Arnold. Jane was preceded in death by a sister Joyce E. Rees.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday at Soller- Baker Funeral Home Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette.
Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Soller- Baker Funeral Home Lafayette Chapel Friday 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, with J. William Overbay officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery Romney. A special thanks to St Mary’s Health Care for their love and compassion to Jane for the past two and half years along with Via Quest Hospice in her final days, we thank you all.
