Jan D. Woltz, 71, of Lafayette, passed away at home on Monday, April 26, 2021, after her long and courageous battle with brain cancer.
She was born July 21, 1949, in Fort Wayne, to the late John A. and Mary L. (Carlson) Dellinger.
Jan graduated from Fort Wayne North Side High School and attended IPFW.
On August 24, 1968, she married Robert “Bob” C. Woltz Jr. in Fort Wayne and he survives.
Jan’s career was spent primarily in the service of others. She was a preschool teacher at Noah’s Ark Preschool, then worked at W.I.C.. She facilitated an Alzheimer’s support group, before finishing her career as an Information Referral Specialist for Area IV Council on Aging.
She was a member of Quilts for Kids and enjoyed time spent with her family, doing genealogy with Bob, and organic gardening.
Surviving with her husband Bob are two daughters, Kindra W. (Keith) Corbin and Amanda (Jim) Garner, a son, Robert (April) Woltz, III all of Lafayette; and a brother, Barton (Karen) Dellinger of Fort Wayne. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Jan was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Dellinger.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Horizon Oncology; Faith, Hope, and Love Cancer Center; Visiting Angels and Franciscan Hospice for the care given to Jan through her battle.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Soller- Baker Funeral Home 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, with Chaplain Dwight Herin officiating. Masks are requested to be worn as well as social distancing. Burial will follow at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.
