James York Theoharous, 77, of Lafayette, IN passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, surrounded by his family. James was born in Mansfield, PA, June 4, 1938 to the late Demetrios (Jimmy) and Julia (York) Theoharous. James graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1956. He served four years in the Navy. He attended Mansfield College in Mansfield, PA and electronics school in Louisville, KY. James married Faye Arnold on April 30, 1966 in Campbellsville, KY. James and Faye moved to Muncie, IN and lived there for 40 years, where they raised two daughters. James was retired from Westinghouse/ABB where he had worked for over 32 years. James, an avid sports lover, was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Knicks. He loved watching Ball State Cardinals football and basketball and was their biggest fan. He enjoyed cheering on his daughters and grandchildren in all their various athletic events. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. James had accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and was a member of Faith Church. He especially enjoyed the Sonrisers Adult Bible Fellowship. Surviving are his wife, Faye Theoharous of Lafayette, IN, two daughters, Jill (husband Erik) Skadberg of Lafayette, IN, Christa (husband Van) Lipkey of Glen Ellyn, IL, four grandchildren, Megan Skadberg, Michael Skadberg, Zander Lipkey and Eliza Lipkey. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be 10:00 AM Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel., Pastor Rob Green officiating. Interment will be at Meadow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vision of Hope Ministries, Faith Church, 5526 SR 26 E, Lafayette, IN 47905.
