James Leroy Holsclaw Jr., 73, of Lafayette, IN died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Regecy Place.
He was born April 6, 1938, in Lafayette, IN, to the late James and Bertha McCord Holsclaw. He served in the US Navy from Dec. 12, 1956, to Aug. 22, 1966. He graduated from Jefferson High School. In 1984 he married Glennetta Yuill in Texas. James enjoyed golf, puzzles, singing, NASCAR and was cameraman at First Assembly for many years.
Surviving along with his spouse are sons, James Holsclaw III (wife Susan) of Florida, Michael Yuill (wife Jodie) of Boswell, David “Fathead” Holsclaw (wife Yolonda) of Lafayette, James Holsclaw IV of Lafayette, daughter Stephanie Holsclaw of Lafayette, sister, Marquita Armes (husband Frank), 4 brothers, William Holsclaw (wife Melanie) of Frankfort, Joseph Holsclaw of Lafayette, Lynn Holsclaw (wife Jean) of Florida, Gordon “Buster” Holsclaw of Lafayette and 10 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a sister Annetta Oswalt Holsclaw, a brother Richard “Dick” Holsclaw, and a stepbrother Harold “Sonny” Guyrichardson.
Visitation 1 p.m. 2 p.m. Thursday at Soller-Baker Funeral Home. Graveside service 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Spring Vale Cemetery.
