James E. Wilson

James Edward “Redeye” Wilson, 71, of West Lafayette, died at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 17, 1939, in Garrett, Ky., to the late Charles and Mae Griffith Wilson. He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1958.
Mr. Wilson served in the United States Army from Feb. 18, 1963 to Feb. 23, 1965.
He married Virginia “Ginger” Lothridge on Oct. 3, 1958, in Battle Ground. She survives.
Mr. Wilson retired from Eli Lilly in 1997 as a Process Operator. He was a member of VFW Post 1154, American Legion Post 492 and loved to play golf and fish.
Surviving along with his spouse are two sons, Steve Wilson (wife: Karla) of Lafayette, Tim Wilson of West Lafayette; three brothers, Richard Wilson (wife: Peggy) of Fullerton, Calif., Jerry Wilson (wife: Joan) of Camp Verde, Ariz., Tom Wilson (wife: Jule) of Tempe, Ariz., and one sister, Liz Cunningham (husband: John) of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jack and Phil Wilson, and 4 sisters, Helen Wilson, Imalee Ent, Barbara Dewhurst and Marlene McDonald.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette 47909. Rev. Dr. Mark Dutton officiating. Burial will follow at Battle Ground Cemetery.
