James A. Seeger

James A. Seeger, 84, of Prospect Heights, Ill., formerly of the greater Lafayette area, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Emeritus of Prospect Heights.
Born Sept. 12, 1926, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Francis and Esther Roach Seeger.
He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and Purdue University, and served in the Navy during World War II.
On June 21, 1952, he married Mary Ellen Meyer in Lafayette, and she died on Dec. 3, 2009.
Mr. Seeger was the owner of the original Village Bottle Shoppe before retiring.
He was a founding member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament, and was also a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and John Purdue Club.
Surviving are a son, Thomas J. Seeger (wife: Lisa) of Kildeer, Ill.; and a daughter, Carol Seeger Teske (husband: Jeff) of Evanston, Ill.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Brenden, Kyle and Ryan Seeger, Anna, Krista and Lauren Teske. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Seeger; and a sister, Patricia Guild.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral mass at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Drive, West Lafayette, IN 47906, with Fr. David Buckles officiating.
