James Scott, 56, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his Residence. He was born May 19, 1960, in Lafayette to the late William and Dorothy Liggett Scott. On December 31, 1985 he married Anita Buckles in Lafayette and she survives. Jimmy worked as a Heavy Highway Driver for the Teamsters Union Local 135 for many years and is retired. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid gun collector. Surviving along with his wife are his children Amber S. Jones of Williamsport, Shawn M. Baker of Lafayette, grandchildren Hayden, C.J. and Garrett. Also surviving are his siblings William L. (Sherry) Scott, Sharon Scott, Linda Scott, Terry (Joanne) Scott, Dorothy (Michael) Burton all of Lafayette, Jerry (Denise) Scott of Salem and Robin Schultz of Lafayette. Jimmy was preceded in death by a grandson Jasper, a brother Johnny and nephews Bobby Weaver and Billy Scott. A memorial service will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday at IBEW Union Hall, 2535 S 30th Street, Lafayette.
