Jackie Conaway, 74, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on the morning of March 16, 2015 after a courageous 6 month battle with a rare Lymphoma. During the incredible journey of her life, she was surrounded, blessed and embraced by her family and multitude of friends. Jackie was born in Highland, IN to Edward and Mila Cisco. She married Bill Conaway in 1960 and would have celebrated their 55th anniversary this fall. She graduated from Purdue University and spent the rest of her life in Lafayette, Indiana with Bill. Her biggest passion was her family and she spent her entire life raising and nurturing her family of 1 husband, 3 children and 6 grandchildren. She was a prolific quilt designer and together with her daughter Terri, created a quilt pattern and fabric design company, Whimsicals, Inc. She spent countless hours designing, cutting, sewing, pressing, piecing, binding, pinning, and creating quilted works of art which brought tremendous beauty and joy to all those with whom she shared her talent. Her dedication to others extended beyond her family to her multitudes of friends both here in Indiana and in Arizona where she spent her winters with Bill. She was active in many circles in both Lafayette and in Apache Junction, AZ. Her community of friends also extended to her church home at Christ United Methodist Church where she was a member for 44 years. We were blessed to have her in our lives and she will be greatly missed. Her infectious smile and laugh will live with us forever. The world may have lost an angel today but heaven gained one more. She is in no more pain now and is at peace. She is survived by her husband, Bill Conaway, children Deb (John Dickhudt) Sepeta, Woodbury, MN, Terri (Tom) Degenkolb, Noblesville, IN, and Tad (Leigh) Conaway, Noblesville, IN, along with grandchildren Matt Sepeta and fiance Kristin Reid (Minnesota), Emily Sepeta (Hawaii), Scott Degenkolb (South Korea), Tyler Degenkolb (Indiana), Carianne Conaway (Indiana), and Sean Conaway (Indiana), and a sister, Connie Rupel in Fishers, IN. An informal gathering and Celebration of Life will begin at 11 am at Christ United Methodist Church on March 28, 2015. At Jackie's request, no flowers please, just balloons!! Any donations or memorials can be given to Christ United Methodist Church Sanctuary Fund.
