Henry Vint Taylor Jr.

Henry Vinton “Vint” Taylor Jr., 47, of Lafayette, died at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East.
Born Sept. 13, 1962, in Lafayette, he was the son of Clara Lou Taylor and the late Henry Vinton Taylor Sr. He graduated from Jefferson High School and studied photography at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Mr. Taylor was a self-employed carpenter and was previously employed at Lafayette Venetian Blind for six years.
He was a former member of ABATE. He enjoyed fishing, riding, camping and spending time with his children, and loved being by the ocean.
On Sept. 25, 2005, he married Tracy Lovell in Attica, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife and mother are a daughter, Ashley Taylor of Farmingdale, N.Y.; three sons, Rollie, Andrew and Zachary Taylor, all of Delphi; and two stepdaughters, Brittany and Hope Lovell, both of Lafayette.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment at Spring Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.

I am so sad to hear of Vint&s passing! Celebrate his life, he had a lot of good times.
From his days as an LVB driver to his stay at the lake to seeing him in the
north end, I used to see him often and enjoyed his company! I used to meet with him in Northern Indiana when he was on the road, just a nice guy. Having suffered several family deaths recently, I tend to believe that a slow death is easier for the survivors to prepare for and thus deal with. On the other hand an unexpected passing is much harder to cope with by it&s very nature. Try to think of it from the perspective of Vint himself. It is not easy but he truly believes he&s in a better place and that is what I will concentrate on, as well as the good times! Bob

Lou, Mike & I are so sorry to hear about Vint. We wonder sometimes how you are doing. It has been almost 20 years since we had a ""hand shake"" agreement on your farmstead, not very many people had that without a contract & big lawyers. Time sure goes by fast. I worked with Henry for a short time and found him to be a nice guy. He worked hard. I hope he is at peace because he deserves it. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. God bless him.

Lou, it&s been many years since my grandmother, Agnes Button, used to care for Vint. I remember coming to your houses on Central St. with her and always enjoyed your son. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are certainly with you.

Vint was one of my closest friends when I still lived in Indiana. He was always there for his friends in their time of need...he was a valued friend and I will miss him. Please accept my condolences on you lost. Vint will be missed by all
