Helen L. Hilt, 94, of Lafayette passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at St. Anthony Health Care. She was born February 29, 1920, in Woonsocket, SD, to the late Leo and Jessie Steele Rice. Her first marriage was Earl Kelsey in October 6, 1937 and he preceded in death. Helen then married Gordon Hilt on March 24, 1964 and he preceded her in death in September of 1999. Mrs. Hilt was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, flower arranging and working in her yard. Surviving are her children Linda Kelsey Coppock (Jay) of Lafayette, Patricia Hilt Richards of Lafayette Lana Hilt Burnell (Herbert) of Lafayette, Carolyn Kelsey Ping (William), Lafayette, Diana Hilt Reed (Ernest) of Attica Anita Hilt Bosworth (Joseph) of Port Richey, FL, Dennis Kelsey (Judy) of Lafayette, Donald Hilt (Brenda) of Zephyr Hills, FL, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by sons Earl “Jack” Kelsey, Gene Hilt, John Hilt ,5 sister and 4 brothers. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Rev. Joseph Park Jr. officiating.
