Harold Lee Bloyd, 75
Harold Lee Bloyd, 75, of Lafayette, died at 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at his residence.
Born April 17, 1935, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Ervin and Orpha Culver Bloyd. He attended Battle Ground High School.
He had been married to Martha Coyner. She preceded him in death on April 25, 2008. His companion, Betty Hawkins, survives.
Mr. Bloyd worked for Purdue for 15 years, National Homes for 30 years, and was a bus driver for Tippecanoe School Corporation for 22 years. He served in the National Guard from 1952-1958 and was a member of the Eagles and Moose Clubs.
Survivors include two, Richard L. Bloyd (wife: Marla), of Kokomo, and Martin Bloyd (wife; Chirita), of Fishers; two daughters, Robin Rader (husband: Randy) of Frankfort, and Linda Swartz (husband: Doug) of Lafayette; one brother, Ed Bloyd (wife: Donna) of Battle Ground; and two sisters, Luella Hughes, and Sarah Mitchell (husband: Mitch), both of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.
Visitation with be from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday with funeral service at 11 a.m. at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Rev. Joseph Park Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Fairhaven Cemetery. Those wishing to may contribute to the American Cancer Society. www.soller-baker.com
