Harold E. Roth, 88, of Lafayette, IN, died at 9:58 PM Monday, November 17, 2014 at I.U. Health, Lafayette.He was born September 25, 1926, in Lafayette to the late Barney and Pearl Stretch Roth. Harold graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School, Class of 1945. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Freestone from 1945-1946. He was awarded the Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.He worked as a printer for Haywood Publishing and retired from Purdue University.Harold married Vivian Foster Roth June 12, 1948. She preceded him in death in 1991. He married Laura Straley Roth on January 2, 1993. Surviving along with his wife, Laura Roth, is one daughter, Carol Roth Huth, husband David, 2 step-daughters, Vicki Platt, Patricia Boardman, husband Mark, and one step-son, J.B. Straley, wife Carolyn. 1 step-daughter, Marta Kemble preceded him in death.Grandsons Daniel Roth Huth, wife Linda, Eric Youngberg, Steven Straley, Bradley Platt, and Barry Kemble. Granddaughters Holly Budel and Jeannie Fultz, husband Jerry. 7 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Friday, November 21st from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Officiating Rev. Clarinda Crawford.
