Harold Dain Correll, 92, of Lafayette passed away peacefully at Creasy Springs on Friday August 7, 2015. Harold was born on April 23, 1923 to Orval and Bertha Parker Correll in Claypool, IN. Growing up on the farm is where Harold learned to love the outdoors including the sun and fishing with his father. He graduated from Burket High School in Kosciusko County. Harold was a decorated veteran of World War II serving in the Central Pacific in the India-Burma-China Offensive. He retired from the Bendix Corporation in South Bend, IN in 1985 after 35 years of employment. Harold is survived by his wife Mae along with 2 daughters Kathy Vernon of Lafayette (husband Randy) and Karen Yoder of Grand Haven, MI (husband Mark). Also surviving is a sister Roberta Runkle of North Manchester, IN and several nieces and nephews. Prior to moving to Lafayette in 1995 Harold and Mae resided in LaPorte, IN where he was active in Agape Christian Church where he served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher. After moving to Lafayette, Harold was able to continue his love of the outdoors and working in the yard by mowing lawns around town with his friend Gordon Bahler. Harold was an active member of Brady Lane Church where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed participating with his Sunday school class and Friendship group. Harold reflected his faith and his love of the Lord in the way he lived. He was a great example of the true Christian faith. In addition he loved to cook, including his famous biscuits and gravy he made many times for Kathy's Purdue tailgate crew. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a daughter, his parents and a sister, Evelyn Harrold. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Saturday August 15, 2015 at Brady Lane Church of Christ 2701 Brady Lane in Lafayette, followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm and then a luncheon. The family asks for donations to the Brady Lane Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers
