Greg Sadler 64 of Lafayette passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at IU Health Hospital. He was born July 21, 1952 to Binford and Elizabeth Sadler. Greg worked at Caterpillar for 28 years. He earned a degree from Indiana Wesleyan. He spent many years officiating high school baseball, basketball, and football. He also worked for the Big Ten. He kept the scorebook for the Lafayette Broncho boys’ basketball games for several years. He was active in the Colt World Series until his health started to decline. He was in the National Guard for 14 years. In his earlier years, he played Santa Claus at the mall and other venues. Greg loved family. He was very close to his brothers. He enjoyed watching his three sons pursue their dreams as well as become excellent husbands and fathers. His three grandchildren were very dear to him. He loved watching sports Purdue, the Bears, and especially the Cubs.
He is survived by his wife-Jayne, three sons, Paul (wife Julie) West Lafayette, Brady (wife Sarah), Noblesville, and Adam, Noblesville, 3 grandchildren- Rylie, Oliver, Amelia, his mom and stepdad- Elizabeth and Jim Davis, Lafayette, brothers William (Marty)(wife-Jan), Lafayette, Jerry(wife-Sherry), Brookston, stepsister Connie Dollins(husband- JD),Texas, stepbrother Terry Davis(wife-Beth), Upland. He is preceded in death by his father, Binford Sadler, and brother Doug Sadler.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church – 3305 Longlois Dr. Lafayette,IN 47904 or Lafayette Broncho Club.
Visitation will be from 5p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9 at Soller Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday November 10 at Soller Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
