Gloria J. Holderfield, 70, of Lafayette died Monday, November 16, 2015 at her residence after a 13 year battle with breast cancer. She was born July 7, 1945, in Lafayette to the late Robert and Beulah Crutchfield Taylor. Gloria graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1963. On June 22, 1968 she married Teddy Holderfield in Lafayette and he survives. She had worked at GTE, in the cafeteria at Tippecanoe County School Corp and the Card & Gift Gallery in the Tippecanoe Mall. She was a member of St. Mary Cathedral and of the Carpenter's Ladies Aux 462. Gloria was the first president of the Wea Volunteer Fireman Ladies Aux. She enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, hummingbirds, cats and nature. Gloria was an avid sports fan and liked watching high school and collage basketball and football and professional football and hockey. She played golf and was an avid bowler. Gloria especially loved sending greeting cards to everybody with sprinkles inside. Surviving along with her husband are her children Rosann G. Holderfield of Dublin, OH, William F. Holderfield (companion Mindi Tyson) of Lafayette and a grandson Liam Alexander Holderfield. Also surviving is her brother Robert Taylor (Shirley) of Port Ritchey, FL. Visitation will be from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM Friday at St. Mary Cathedral. Funeral Mass will be at 4:30 PM Friday at St. Mary Cathedral. Those wishing may contribute to the Caregivers Companion or St. Mary Cathedral.
