Gerald D. Poole, 79, of Lafayette died Saturday, August 27, 2016 at IU Arnett Hospital. He was born November 8, 1936, in Connersville to the late George and Artha Dale Poole. Gerald served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and on October 4, 1959 he married Nita Hendrickson in Connersville and she survives. Gerald worked as a Route Salesman for Mary Lou Donuts for over 30 years and is retired. He attended Brady Lane Church and enjoyed golfing. Surviving along with his wife are his daughters Shannon K. Baker (Russell) of LaGrange, Shelley A. Fry (Lee) of Kendallville, grandsons Erick Baker of Ashley and Evan Baker of Ft. Wayne. Also survivng is his sister Judy Hittle (Bill) of Indianapolis. Gerald was preceded in death by a brother William Poole and a sister Donna Poole. Visitation will be 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm on Thursday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Those wishing may contribute, in lieu of flowers, to Brady Lane Church Building Fund in Gerald’s memory.
