Georgia Lou Horton, 68
Georgia Lou Emerson Horton, 68, of Lafayette, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central hospital.
She was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Bowling Green, Ky., to the late George Emerson and Mary Lou Robinson Emerson.
In 1956, she married James M. Horton, who died Dec. 4, 2003.
Mrs. Horton was a framer at National Homes for 15 years. She retired in 1992 after working in housekeeping at Purdue University.
She enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, especially poker, going to flea markets, yard sales, auctions and camping.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Horton (wife: Teresa) of Speedwell, Tenn., Jerry Horton (wife: Ellen) and Danny “Boone” Horton (wife: Kathy), both of Lafayette, and Randy Horton (wife: Lisa) of Attica; two daughters, Donna Oliver (husband: Troy) of Lafayette and Linda Wright (husband: Dennis) of Attica; a stepson, Billy Horton (wife: Debbie) of Eaton; two stepdaughters, Brenda Brumley (husband: David) and Ann Strunk (husband: Scott), both of Eaton; and a brother, James D. Harrel of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 25 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Horton.
Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, with service there at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Officiating Pastor Tim Walker . Burial at Spring Vale Cemetery. Send online condolences to www.soller-baker.com
