Geneva Ruth (Dunk) Townsley, 102, of Lafayette passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at St. Anthony Health Care in Lafayette.
She was born May 22, 1919, in Battle Ground to the late Henry and Sarah (Peterson) Dunk and was a graduate of Brookston High School. On October 14, 1941, she married George Bentz Townsley. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2014.
Geneva was a proud wife and mother. She enjoyed baking and made the BEST Pies, her pie crust never was soggy and her Pineapple Mousse was amazing. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved to garden and that was evident in her watermelons and poppies. She was involved with 4-H and loved taking her grandchildren to the 4-H County Fair. She took meticulous care in the things she loved, such as her children’s school records, and family heirlooms and she had a beautiful collection of Christmas cards. Above all, Geneva cherished time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Leslie (Sandra) Townsley of Orange Park, FL., Darryl (Mary) Townsley of Eldon, MO., and Susan Karns of Lafayette; 6 grandchildren, Mark Townsley, David Townsley, Amy Townsley, Ian (Tish) Karns, Deac (Liz) Karns, and Sarah (Brandon) Hill; and several great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cary Christopher Townsley; 2 brothers, Frances and Merl Dunk; and a sister, Alice Dunk Gagnon.
