Gayle Ann (Flinn) Archer, 84, of West Lafayette, formerly of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home with family near.
She was born January 13, 1937 in Indianapolis, to the late John H. and Constance (Hornaday) Flinn. She was a 1955 graduate of Monticello High School and earned her Associates Degree from Indiana Business College. On October 15, 1959, she married her best friend and love, Robert E. Archer in Monticello. Robert preceded her in death in May 2004. Gayle worked as an accountant/bookkeeper for Purdue University until her retirement.
Gayle was a devout Christian whose faith was strong. She enjoyed sharing Jesus and the Word of God with others. She was also an artist who enjoyed quilting, coin collecting, and flower arranging. She enjoyed sewing clothes and gardening. She was a 2002 Euchre champ at Purdue Chemistry Stores and was a member of the Purdue Retirement Association. She loved to sing and was active in choir at church and in high school. She was also active in 4-H, volunteering her time as a leader. She also volunteered her time in the church library. Gayle liked to travel and read mysteries and grow flowers. She also loved cats. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her 3 children, Phillip (Sandy) Archer Kashat of GA, Cathy Archer of West Lafayette, and Steven (Stacey) Archer of Lafayette; 5 grandchildren, Kirsten Mia (Chris) Richardson of GA, Ian, Emily, Lily, and Joel Archer of Lafayette; 2 great-grandchildren, Jason and Hailey Richardson; sister-in-law, Gwen Schantz; and several cousins.
Along with her husband Robert, and her parents John and Constance, she was preceded in death by her brother, Evard Flinn.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Soller-Baker, West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Pkwy W, West Lafayette, IN 47906. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery, near Green Hill, IN.
Current Covid-19 precautions will be observed along with social distancing and current government attendance guidelines. Masks are required.
