Gary L. Hine, 59, of West Lafayette, IN, died at 11:15 AM Saturday, November 23, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born February 25, 1954 in Fort Wayne, IN to Harris C. Hine and Wanda E. Hollenbaugh. He graduated from Wainwright High School class of '72. He married Belinda Garrett on October 8, 1988 in Buck Creek, IN and she survives. Gary retired in 2011 from Teamsters Local 135 after 23 years of service to Consolidated Freightways. He also worked seven years at Tri-Esco of Lafayette. Gary enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, carpentry, remodeling and restoring old cars. He liked to redesign and improve things to make life easier. Gary was also a former member of the Lafayette Generals football program. He valued spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Along with his loving wife, Belinda, he is survived by his mother, Wanda Hine of Lafayette, his sisters, Debbie Snider (husband Ross) of Indianapolis, Susan Hodge (husband James) of Lafayette, brother, Dennis Hine (wife Kathleen) of Kansas City, KS and brothers-in-law, Thomas Higbee of Lafayette and Patrick Garrett of Phoenix, AZ. Visitation will be 3:00 PM-5:00 PM Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church and Funeral Mass to follow at 5:00 PM with Father Timothy Alkire officiating. Gary was preceded in death by his father Harris C. Hine and a sister Peggy Higbee.
