G. Dave Fisher

G. Dave Fisher, 83, of West Lafayette, died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at his residence.
Born May 28, 1927, in Buck Creek, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emma Wagoner Fisher. He graduated from Buck Creek High School and attended Purdue University and the University of Miami.
His first marriage was to Dolores M. Widener, and she preceded him in death. On April 6, 1979, he married Mary K. Hedberg in Yeoman, and she survives.
Mr. Fisher was a member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament, was the founder of Lafayette Sailing Club and was a member of the Indiana Poultry Association. He enjoyed sailing and racing sailboats.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Lynn A. Fisher (wife: Becky) and Mark E. Fisher (wife: Laurie), both of Lafayette, and Steve L. Dailey (wife: Julissa) of Shorewood, Ill.; three daughters, Dian K. Poudrier (husband: Mark) of Guadalupe, Calif., Susie K. Birthright of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Cyndi A. Burroughs (husband: David) of Brookston; and a sister, Margie Dunk (husband: Everett) of Delphi.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. today, Aug. 24, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., with a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m., then again 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Drive, West Lafayette, IN 47906, with Fr. David Buckles officiating. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette. Those wishing may contribute to the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research, Development Office, 201 S. University St., West Lafayette, IN 47907-2064.
