Fred W. Hicks Sr., 69, of West Lafayette, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at his residence.
Born July 19, 1941, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Veril V. and Golda Mae Waymire Hicks. He graduated from Battle Ground High School.
On Feb. 14, 1980, he married Donna J. Stroud Hicks in West Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Hicks was an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union member. He enjoyed electrical remodeling projects, woodworking and traveling.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Angelique Hicks of Apopka, Fla., Angela Yeoman (husband: Jason) of Lafayette and Cindy Kelly of West Lafayette; three sons, Fred W. Hicks Jr. of Brookston, Ronald Fields of West Lafayette and Tony Hicks (wife: Cathy) of New York City; and two sisters, Virginia Hopkins (husband: Paul) and Shirley Cadentz (husband: Albert), and a brother, Tom Hicks (wife: Nancy), all of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Visitation 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Services 11 a.m. Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Rev. Michael Cope officiating. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Family gathering after service at Immanuel Reformed Presbyterian Church, 1893 E. County Road 600 North, West Lafayette.
