Floyd A. Rishel, 83, of West Point, IN, died at 4:36 pm Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Indiana University Health Arnett.
He was born April 9, 1928, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Clifford and Helen Leaman Rishel.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from July 14, 1950, to January 18, 1954.
He graduated from Monitor High School. On December 24, 1947, he married Betty C. Alting, and she survives. Mr. Rishel worked for Fairfield Mfg. for 31 years and retired as foreman of the shipping department. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #347, a founding member of the Eagles Golf League and a member of the Fairfield Athletic Assoc. Mr. Rishel enjoyed golf, fishing, euchre, bowling, camping and watching his grandchildren participate in sports. He was a loyal Chicago cubs Fan.
Surviving are his wife Betty C. Rishel, West Point, IN, children, Linda Coons husband: Rick, Battle Ground, IN, Allen Rishel wife: Julie, Lafayette, IN, Karen Blosser husband: J.R., West Lafayette, IN, sister Marilyn Balser husband: Ralph, Crawfordsville, IN, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and son-in-law Mike Davis, West Lafayette, IN.
Preceded in death by daughter Gail Davis and brother Jimmy Rishel.
Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service 10am Wednesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Rev. Jason Lefler officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.

This is Erin Wohlfert, Floyd&s physical therapist from outpatient therapy on Ferry street. I am so sorry to hear of Floyd&s passing. He was such a joy to work with last month and made me laugh every single time he was here. I am sure that Floyd&s has touched so many lives in his time here and I hope that it finds you comfort. I sat here in the office today telling my colleagues how funny Floyd was and how he was always smiling when he was here.
