Eve Marie Bongen, daughter of the late Robert and Ruthanna (Cunningham) Bongen passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 13, 2014. Eve graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School and worked many years at Wonder Bread. She greatly enjoyed being around family spending time with her many nieces and nephews, who she spoiled dearly. Eve was planning a family vacation with her brother and sisters and their respective families for the summer of 2015 (Of course this would take place around one of her many car show weekends)! At a young age she developed a passion for cars and it was a blessing she met Denny who shared this same passion for classic cars. During the Spring and Summer you would find Eve and Denny at a cruise-in or car show displaying their classics, usually in the best spots because Eve would always arrive early! Eve was especially excited for a car cruise in July that would cover several states. Eve would carry a small photo album of her nieces and nephews along with an album with pictures of all their beautiful classic cars, many of which were restored by Denny. She enjoyed following horoscopes, watching the Colts, Purdue sports, and Sheridan football. In recent years she enjoyed working in her flower garden which was something she learned from her dad. She is survived by Life Companion Denny Klontz (Lafayette), Sisters Cathy Connell (Jim) (Burnettsville), Debby Cooper (John) (Lafayette), Ellen Wright (Bud) (Sheridan), Faith Sadtler (Fritz) (Brownsburg), and Twin Brother Matt Bongen (Ellen) (Lafayette), Nephews Jamie, Nathan, Bryce, Graham, Josh, Trevor, Brennan, Kyle and Austin, Nieces Shaeley, Jennifer, Kara and Chelsea, Great Nephews Jaymeson, Gavin, Brayden, Johnnie, Nolan, Easton, and Nikolaus, Great Nieces Jaylin, Mel, and Sydney, Aunts Phyllis Bongen (Lafayette), Mary Shelley (Westfield), and Jo Cunningham (St.Louis, MO) Everett Klontz (West Lafayette), Dave Klontz (Pam) (Lafayette), Doug Klontz (Angie) (South Bend) along with many beloved cousins and friends. Visitation will be Sunday, January 19th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. The funeral service will be Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN47909. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
