Eunice A. Allen, 90, of Lafayette, passed away at 4:15 am Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Rosewalk Village. She was born April 10, 1923, in Detroit, MI, to the late Arthur and Frances Sommers Spiekerman. After graduating from high school she worked as a bookkeeper, then, married John Allen on April 15, 1950 in Saginaw, MI. He passed away May 3, 2007. Eunice was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was known as a caregiver to all. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting for family and charities. Surviving are four daughters; Diane Link of Lafayette, Karen Crane (Ken) of West Lafayette, Linda Burley and Judy Allen both of Lafayette; two brothers Harley Spiekerman (Bonnie) and Verne Spiekerman (Marilyn), two sisters; Verna Bringold (Wally) and Ina Navarro (David), sisters-in-law; Dorothy Histed (Orville), Marge and Dorothy Spiekerman and a brother-in-law Herb Stockmeyer all of Michigan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; John (Beth), Kimberly, Levi (Sarah), Riley, Elyse, Claire, Ian and all of her great grandchildren who held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles, Ramon and Glen Spiekerman a sister Ida Stockmeyer and a granddaughter Katie Jo. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Rev. Dr. Jacob H. Hoffman officiating. A private family entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
