Eseline “Izzy” Marocco, 95, of Lafayette passed away on September 24 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born in Logansport on July 4, 1922. Izzy, along with thousands of other women, went to work in a factory during World War II.
On June 28, 1947 she married Patsy “Pat” Marocco in Logansport.
Izzy was a homemaker who loved to cook. Italian dishes were her specialty. Her house was always joyful and filled with the most wonderful aromas! No one ever left her house hungry!
Izzy loved cooking, shopping, champagne, and most of all her family.
Izzy is survived by her daughter, Anita Goris (husband Jack) of Lafayette; Three grandchildren, Kyle Goris (wife Hilari) of Westfield, Jaclyn Cosantino (husband Chris) of Westfield, and Kate Goris of Chicago, as well as two great grandchildren, Jackson and Sophia.
Izzy is preceded in death by her son, Pat, husband, Patsy, two sisters and three brothers.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 26 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Fr. Eric Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport. Memorials in Eseline's name may be made to doctorswithoutborders.org.
